To check for partitions, use the Disk Management application included with Windows. The issue here is that Windows thinks I've used 687 GB of the 931 GB, while I have actually only used up 380 GB. I think it is a problem related to free space reporting of the drive. Windows Explorer’s look and feel has remained the same for quite sometime but that changed when the ribbon interface was added to Explorer.
