Secondary Hard Drive Disappears


Just yesterday, (10/1/2009) I attempted the update with the same result. You might skip a potential step by simply buying a new HD first and installing an operating system on it to start. I am not interested in anything on it - just get the drive back in use. And you can then "extend" C into that unallocated space. There is a free version and a "professional" version, for your purposes, the free version is probably all that you need. I have given a suggestion for how to troubleshoot that problem, and it's something I'll work on for myself. Then one day, they told me the computer just turned off itself abruptly while it was in use.

My mom for instance would put on music (located on said drive) and work on the spreadsheets for her business and the music would just stop playing.

I also don't see how the low RAM could cause such extreme problems. I don't use them at all and regard them as superfluous. How much space do you have allotted to System Restore.
