I checked my mouse and discovered that the wheel, even if i can scroll in both ways, forward or backward, cant be pressed anymore to have the 4 arrows functions. Whatever the exact cause was, it had to do with the hardware of the mouse, be it stray signals from the mouse or an incompatibility with the buttons or wheel.
