I am wondering why sometimes (mostly never) it is working and if it works than also the longer method via PCSetting and so is fine. Obviously I can't enter safe mode because of undoing updates and f8 doesn't work. by R. Although I didn't add Safe Mode, it helped me a lot because I accidently added a Linux option! I switched out to a PS2 keyboard. I had doubts when I saw that the only thing that changed was the text within the quotes. The Win 7 help file says to use F8, so that should work (I guess) on all PCs I am using an Intel board.

Many times when you can't boot into Windows because of a virus infection, a faulty software or driver installation, you can boot into Safe Mode and fix the problem. You should have done this.
