The oldest game I could find there, that I recognized, was Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, which is an amazing game that does work with 64-bit. I'll go in search of them now.. Compatibility-wise and that does not even include that horrible abomination called Aero. Windows Vista Good Or Bad So I pulled out my Vista disk and it had no problem at all. I will post some instructions shortly when I get time. As long as you know how to properly optimize your PC (run disk defrag and CCleaner, check for viruses/spyware, disable unnecessary processes and services, do a bit of Vista tweaking, etc.)

I got good mashine and Unreal Tournament 3 allways stop working, so Falls to the windows. That solved it for me. I backuped my saves and reinstalled the game and its patches I left it unmodded, since I had been using the Repair mod beforehand I then deleted the corrupt saves and this contact form edit: then there is another possible solution: to use some linux distribution (as second OS or virtualize it) and try to run older Windows games using Wine or Cedega ...

On my win7 partition I have DX9.0c for some games and 10.1 for others. The 10th anniversary ed Riven has some of the same problems in Vista as the original so some of the workarounds on the net are still valid.
Also, more comment about Fallout1/2 too please :D It would be so great if the Age of Wonders and Space Rangers games would work too without any hassle. WORK! To get technical about it, the processor switches to 32-bit mode "on the fly" whenever it gets 32-bit opcodes -- in other words, it looks to the program exactly like a The game could be having issues with the operating system itself and not the platform, that is why I suggested trying the compatibility mode or as an admin. So it's assumable that on a fresh install you could load an older version of DX and test the game. Its weird and a little different but I'll get used to it.
